Setting Up Rental Shipping

Rental shipping accounts for both outbound and return shipping costs, as rental items must be sent to the customer and returned after use. The system automatically calculates shipping for both directions.

Rental in Shipping Classes is set by default to Is Default Class = N and Is Rental = Y

To set up rental shipping:

1. Shipping -> Shipping Classes -> List.
2. Click on Rental
3.  Set the following
   1. Is Default Class = N
   2. Is Rental = Y
4. Shipping -> Rates -> Methods
5. Only shipping methods marked as Rental can be used for both outbound and return shipping cost calculations. This ensures that rental items account for shipping in both directions
